The fair not only gives you an opportunity to buy some additions to your collection, but will also provide a source of inspiration for gifts for your friends and family members. Each piece displayed at the Sberatel fair is an original with its own story, which can make someone happy and can also turn into an interesting investment in future years.
The “Christmas Sberatel – Collector Fair“ features a rich accompanying programme, including autograph sessions of renowned graphic artists, displays of collector’s rarities, or christening ceremonies of new products.
ATTENTION! For a ticket to the Christmas Sberatel fair you can also visit the Antique fair, which takes place from 21 to 24 November at the New Town Hall on Charles Square in Prague and thus overlaps with Sberatel.
Tatra 77 – Czechoslovak automotive design icon on the 0 euro souvenir banknote
The car that forever changed the face of the Czechoslovak automotive industry and inspired designers around the world. This elegant car, produced between 1934 and 1938, was a pioneer in many ways.
Its most distinctive feature was its revolutionary aerodynamic body, which was completely unusual for its time. The Tatra 77 was the first mass-produced car with such a design. Under the bonnet was a powerful air-cooled V8 engine, which gave the car plenty of power and enabled it to reach high speeds. The interior of the Tatra 77 was as innovative as the exterior. The car offered a high level of comfort and equipment that was comparable to the most luxurious cars of the time.
The Tatra 77 became a symbol of the Czechoslovak automotive industry and was exported to many countries around the world. Even today, more than eighty years after the end of production, the Tatra 77 is one of the best known and most admired Czech cars.
At the Sberatel.info stand, it will also be possible to buy a new privat press sheet issued by the Czech Post on the anniversary of the Tatra 77.
Freddie Mercury on the stamp of the Deutsche Post in the premiere at the Christmas Sberatel fair
The late Queen frontman is the subject of a stamp from the “Legend of Pop/Rock Music” series, which follows last year’s stamp featuring Jimi Hendrix. The new stamp was created by Deutsche Post’s in-house stamp designer Jan-Niklas Kroeger and depicts the legendary artist in one of his iconic poses with a microphone on a stand. The new stamp featuring Freddie Mercury, himself one of the most famous stamp collectors, will be available for purchase at the sberatel.info stand at the fair.
It will be possible to buy a single stamp or the entire sheet at the fair.
There will also be a limited number of commemorative stamp sheets and an atypical “booklet” in the shape of a gramophone record with two stamps.
For the first time on sale at the Christmas Sberatel fair will be a book of private stamps “Eagles”. It follows the previously published booklets “Birds of Prey” and “Birds of Prey and Falcons”. The author of the original designs for all stamps is the artist Vlado Rimbala.
A commemorative cancellation will be available for the new stamps at the Prague 8 post office.
It will also be possible to obtain an original ‘beer stamp’ at the fair. It was issued this year by the Austrian Post and is a celebration of beer and all the joys associated with it. The entire sheet, designed by artist David Gruber, is the size and shape of a classic beer tray. It is on sale at the Sberatel.info stand.
