A record-breaking purchase: a Czech investor bought an envelope with two Red Mauritius stamps

In a deal worth EUR 2.4 million (approx. CZK 65 million), an anonymous Czech collectors bought a letter with two Red Mauritius stamps, the so-called Bombay Cover. The Czech investor already owns the two most valuable stamps in the world, the Red and Blue Mauritius “Post Office” stamps. In the opinion of experts, his (or her) collection is of a greater value than the set of the Mauritius stamps in the British royal collection. With the Praga 2018 philatelic exhibition nearing, the interest in investments into stamps has been increasing significantly.
